Works well after fixing flare fitting issue
The system appears to be working. The manual's torque settings for the flare fittings seem incorrect, as the flare blew off the copper line before reaching the suggested setting. A new flaring tool was used to redo the flare, and the rest of the assembly was completed by feel. No leaks were found based on vacuum holding and a bubble test after pressurizing with refrigerant. Heating output is 115°F and cooling output is 38.5°F with an outdoor temperature of 60°F. The box and front grill had minor damage on arrival, but the grill protected the coils. Installation went well aside from the torque value issue.
- + heating and cooling output within expected range
- + no leaks after vacuum and bubble test
- + front grill protected coils from damage
- − manual torque settings for flare fittings appear incorrect
- − minor damage to box and front grill on arrival
