Durable Manual Ice Shaver for Snow Cones
This manual ice shaver is a cheap way to make snow cones at home. Despite being mostly thin plastic, it holds up well. The design is simple: add ice, turn the crank, and shave. Solid pieces of ice from a mold work better than standard ice cubes. The crank takes some effort, but each turn yields a decent amount of shaved ice. It disassembles easily for cleaning and drying and does not take up too much cabinet space. The resulting ice is finer and more snow-like than carnival snow cones.
